Rachel Carr is the associate editor in charge of destinations coverage for both Association News and SportsTravel.

A native of Essex, England, Rachel joined our company as an intern just over four years ago. She immediately put her degree in media and journalism from the University of Westminster in London to work.

A talented writer, editor and photographer, Rachel has most recently been leading several of our company’s Internet initiatives. In addition to her editorial duties, Rachel has served as the “rooming czar” for the TEAMS Conference for the past three years.

In the Publisher’s Letter in this month’s issues of Association News and SportsTravel, I attempted to construct a short list of what event sponsors want. I identified five things:

1) Sponsors want to be consulted and involved in the structuring of their sponsorship.
2) Sponsors want access that results in relationships with your constituents.
3) Sponsors want visibility.
4) Sponsors want to be appreciated.
5) Sponsors appreciate it when they receive more than is in the contract.

While my full Publisher’s Letter provides additional details on each of these points, I’m wondering if my top five match yours.
